Brighton-based Barry Wilson is known for his Abstract Expressionist paintings which he fashions using a unique combination of acrylic and gold leaf on canvas, producing the charming effect of vintage photography. His landscape paintings depict bygone worlds hidden under flaking paint and new age constructions, but not quite forgotten. Barry also spent some time working as an interior designer. Barry dexterously evokes themes of evanescence and the fragility of memory by distressing the surfaces of his paintings using industrial spray guns, scouring pads and water jets, thereby echoing the peeling facades of the past and the decay of grandeur. All is not quite lost, however, as is suggested and enhanced by the beautiful gold leaf base that shines through. Barry also experiments with chinoiserie wallpaper and photo montages. Barry has enjoyed international acclaim for his work which has been showcased in major museums and galleries worldwide. Barry was the Winner of the prestigious Saatchi Award.

It looked fantastic….. The gold always has a strong impact but when a painting is hung in the right place, it comes alive. I always use gold leaf in my paintings. A lot of layers are created over time and then I excavate to reveal the memories. These art works were an idea I had whilst looking at Lee Miler photo montages and the overlapping of images on a photograph in the dark room choosing the right combination takes you on a journey that would not be possible with just the face. I studied at Camberwell School of Art in London.

If you do not see your local currency, your purchase will default to USD. I believe the delicate, fragile beauty of the gold leaf finish belies the somewhat brutal techniques I employ. I believe the result is a vibrant and edgy captured moment; contemporary and beautiful. Barrywilson CV Recent Selected Exhibitions Like a reflection in an antique mirror or a much loved photograph, creased and faded, Barry Wilson's latest portraits have a delicate, fragile beauty that belie the brutality of the techniques he uses. Industrial spray guns, scouring pads and water jets combine with traditional approaches and his trademark gold leaf.
I would suggest having a list of chores that need to be done, and anyone can check them off. You could even pass it off as you investigating the church and you stumnled accross these essays on lds. After you read the CES letter Im pretty sure you will be grossed out by mormonism. The doctrinal and afterlife issues around a non-temple marriage are an entirely different topic, and one that I am personally much more at peace with than my questions about how one might make an interfaith marriage work in this life.
